The Answers You Need

WHAT DIFFERENT TYPE OF RAGDOLLS EXIST?

Ragdolls are born entirely white and take approximately three-four weeks for their true colour to appear. They are homozygous for blue eye colour, meaning all Ragdolls have this trait. Purebred Ragdolls are mainly recognised in one of three patterns and four standard colours.

  • Patterns: Colour Point, Bi-Colour and Mitted

  • Colours : Seal, Blue, Chocolate and Lilac

Depending on breeding time, Primavera Ragdolls has breeding potential for all types of patterns and colours.

WHEN WILL MY RAG FULLY MATURE AND SHOW ITS COMPLETE COLOUR?

Ragdoll kittens are all born white, like all pointed cats.  Their colours and patterns rapidly emerge as they grow. Ragdolls take a long time to mature fully and their magnificent coats do not gain the rich colouring of an adult until they are around 3-4 years old, nor do they stop growing until they are around the same age.  A female can be from 4-6kgs  and a male around 6-8kgs.  They can also be much larger, with a male up to 10 or more kgs.

ARE RAGDOLLS GOOD PETS?

Ragdoll cats tend to make excellent family pets because of their gentle, loyal, and affectionate nature. They are known to be patient with children and friendly with other pets.
Ragdoll cats are also relatively low maintenance pets, requiring only a bi-weekly preventative brush and are generally a healthy cat with a long-life expectancy with a lifespan of 15-20 years.
